It is by far the most detailed and comprehensive commitment by any political party which is perhaps not surprising because the communists keeping their faults aside are high functioning intellectuals and academics.
The left has a history of enacting land reforms in West Bengal, the state which returned them to power multiple times. However, it remains to be seen, when that party comes in power, what do they do vs. The environment needs higher priority than many other tasks and the next government should show maniresto seriousness by appointing a mature and environment conscious person as an environment minister not like the ones we had in the recent past.
Yes, I just hope the National Solar Mission is continued and cleaning up of rivers is finally initiated. A pro active environment minister would definitely help the cause.
